Sometimes in our life when we do something good we are met with suspicion. When you do a good service, people will spread gossips against you. when you did something good, people will create intrigues against you. Who would like to sow a seed of kindness knowing that you will just only harvest a plentiful accusations and intrigues.
After doing something good to others, you will be attacked with jealousy. Some people will be envious of you. That why a lot of people are determined to give up on being good. They will say “I’m done! I’m fed up. I will not try to be different. I will just be like everyone else. I will not do good service anymore. “
Moreover, we must never get tired of being kind and nice to everyone. We must not choose recipients of our goodness. It seems practical to do goodness to the ones that we knew, can always repay us. A love we shared may never be reciprocated by that person. Of doing good, we may not heap praises but still we must always be a channel of peace, love and kindness. There will always be a prying crowd who will censor our every act, people who will scrutinize our capacity to do good. Familiarity breeds contempt as the adage says...
We must be ready to suffer the consequences of being good. Others find it better to do good in public, where there is a crowd. But crowd or no crowd, applause or no applause, we must continue to do good. There might be no word of gratitude. Even there is no single eye that is watching us; we must still execute an act of kindness. We might be rewarded with malicious suspicion, suspected of hidden agenda or motive. Our best consolation is our Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent God.
